"The fact Protein Rebel base their products on natural ingredients resonated with me. Fast forward to several months of using the products. The protein powder not only tastes amazing but doesn’t cause any issues with my digestive system as other products have always caused it to flare up."

Runners’ questions
“I’ve used whey protein for years. Will plant protein actually work as well?”
Research confirms it. Pea and rice protein combined provide all essential amino acids and stimulate muscle protein synthesis at rates equivalent to whey — without the dairy. One long-term whey user said it took time to adjust to the taste but now considers it a much healthier option. Your muscles won’t know the difference.
“I took a while to get used to the flavour of a plant-based protein after using whey for years but now I really enjoy it and know it’s a much healthier option.”
— Loox review, 5★“Best protein powder we’ve had (of many) for flavour and shortest ingredients list.”
— Loox review, 5★“I’m not a runner. Can non-runners use this?”
Yes! It works for anyone who needs more protein. Customers use it in overnight oats, porridge, smoothies and as a post-gym shake. Several of our customers in their 60s and 70s use it to maintain strength and energy for cycling, walking and general exercise. You don’t need to be a runner to benefit from cleaner protein.
“I’m a 74 year old who ran 60,000 miles until a hip replacement. Protein has helped keep me going.”
— Loox review, 5★“I use this as either a quick breakfast or lunch some days — it helps my protein intake which in turn helps muscles recover quicker.”
— Loox review, 5★“What’s the best way to mix it? I’ve had protein powders that go lumpy.”
Milk, oat milk or almond milk give the best result, making the protein powder smoother and better tasting than water alone. A blender or protein shaker is always better than using a spoon and for variety, add a banana, berries or cocoa powder. One customer mixes it with hot water and almond milk after cold winter runs.
“My new favourite way after a cold run is with hot water, almond milk and cocoa powder.”
— Loox review, 5★“Mixes brilliantly with water or milk. I add cocoa powder sometimes and it tastes delicious with banana.”
— Loox review, 5★“I’m lactose intolerant. Is this safe for me?”
Yes. Our protein powder is completely dairy free. The ingredients list is pea protein, brown rice protein, natural vanilla, sea salt and stevia. There are no whey, casein or milk derivatives. One customer switched specifically because of lactose intolerance and now takes it in her porridge every morning and after workouts.
“Really love this protein powder. I’m lactose intolerant so it’s perfect for me. I have it in my porridge each morning and after a workout. Tastes great.”
— Loox review, 5★“It sounds very sweet. What does it actually taste like?”
The taste is natural vanilla — sweet but not artificial. Stevia is the sweetener, which a small number of customers find strong with water alone. Most prefer our protein powder with milk or oat milk, which softens the sweetness. Several customers add banana, berries or cocoa powder for variety. If you’re sensitive to stevia, try it with milk rather than water alone.
“Loving the taste — I’ve finally found the vegan protein powder that tastes like a treat the same way my whey ones used to.”
— Loox review, 5★“It does need a really thorough mix. A good flavour and easy to take.”
