Two teaspoons of hydrolysed marine collagen, morning and night. It dissolves clear in coffee, tea, porridge or a shake — no taste, no lumps, no stringy texture. Collagen is a different protein from the one in a protein shake, and it’s in the tin for a different job: protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, and for a runner that’s the one that counts. Nothing else is in there — no vitamin C, no flavouring, no sweetener, no filler — so every gram of powder is collagen. Only collagen this good can be sold with nothing added: no flavour to hide the taste behind, no filler to make up the weight, no vitamin to carry a claim it can’t make itself. That’s 100% pure.
- ✓One ingredient — 100% hydrolysed marine collagen peptides, Type I, from white fish. Every gram of powder is collagen
- ✓A different protein — not a shake and not a substitute for one. High in protein: 90% by weight, 18kcal a serving
- ✓10g a day — 5g in the morning, 5g at night; a 500g tin is 50 of each
- ✓Dissolves clear, hot or cold — unflavoured, no stringy texture
- ✓Gluten-free · Made in the UK · Contains fish
What the collagen aisle tells you
Run Easy is the opposite of most collagen tins. On purpose.
Four things you’ve been told, and what’s actually in ours.
You’ve been told
“More types are better.”
Type says where it came from, not where it goes.
There are at least 28 types of collagen. The type on a tin tells you which part of which animal it came from — hide, cartilage, fish skin — not where it goes in a runner’s body. There is no vegan collagen. Hydrolysed, they’re all short chains of the same few amino acids. Run Easy is Type I from fish: 10g a day, one source, nothing else.
You’ve been told
“It only works with vitamin C.”
That’s the vitamin’s claim. You’re paying for purity.
The law lets vitamin C say it “contributes to normal collagen formation” — a claim about the vitamin, not about collagen. Vitamin C is in everyday food; a balanced diet gives most people more than enough, and the body doesn’t store the extra. We left it out. With Run Easy you pay for purity, not for vitamins you already get.
You’ve been told
“Collagen is for your skin.”
Skin is where the vitamin C claim lands. We’re a running brand.
Collagen is sold for skin because that is where the vitamin C claim lands. The job in our tin is the one protein is allowed to claim — the maintenance of normal bones — and the routine is built around training: morning, night, every day.
You’ve been told
“Bovine for joints, marine for skin.”
No bovine collagen has an authorised joint claim. It’s just cheaper.
No bovine collagen has an authorised claim for tendons, ligaments or joints. Hide costs a fraction of fish, and the idea is one bovine brand’s marketing, sold with vitamin C. Marine is Type I from fish, hydrolysed into smaller peptides than hide collagen. It dissolves clear, tastes of nothing, and comes in a tin — the only collagen we’ve found that does — which is why you’ll still be taking it twice a day in a year.
The claim we make
- Protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
High in protein — 4.5g per 5g serving, 18kcal. Collagen is around 90% protein; the rest is moisture. This is protein’s authorised claim. Take as part of a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Two servings a day — do not exceed.
One ingredient. Ten grams a day. Every gram of powder is collagen.
Runs with Power Up
Collagen morning and night. Magnesium at night.
Run Easy is 5g of marine collagen in the morning and 5g again at night. Power Up is a teaspoon of marine magnesium citrate before bed. Take them at the same time — two glasses, not one. The collagen goes in whatever you’re drinking anyway, a hot chocolate or a squash; the magnesium has a slight citrus note and is best in plain water. One moment, two tins, and neither gets forgotten.
The routine
- MorningRun Easy, 5g, in a hot or cold drink.
- NightRun Easy, 5g, in a hot chocolate or a squash. Power Up, 2.5g (one teaspoon), in a separate glass of water.
- DailyRun Easy twice a day, Power Up once. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.
Power Up

Women’s Running Awards 2025
Judged by the Women’s Running editorial team against the collagens entered that year. A value award — what’s in the tin against what it costs — which is the comparison we’d ask you to make anyway.

Runners’ questions
What people ask before they buy
Will it help my knees?
No collagen brand is allowed to tell you that — there is no authorised health claim for collagen and joints, whatever the tin says. Here’s the claim we can make, and do: collagen is a protein, and protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. Every stride loads them. That’s the one runners take it for, morning and night, and the only promise on this page is that one.
How long before I notice anything?
We can’t promise you’ll notice anything, and we don’t guess for you. What we can say: a 500g tin is 50 mornings and 50 nights, and the runners who mention a timeframe in their reviews wrote it weeks in, not days. A few honest three-star reviews say “too soon to tell” — they’re right, and our own review request goes out too early. Give it the tin.
“I’ve been taking this twice a day in either coffee or tea for a while now.” — Vicki, Loox review, 5★
Why two teaspoons twice a day, not one scoop?
It’s the direction on the tin: 5g in the morning, 5g at night, 10g a day. Two teaspoons dissolve clean in a mug where four don’t, and it ties the habit to two moments you already have — the first coffee and the last drink of the day. There’s no scoop in the tin; a level teaspoon is about 2.5g.
“Super easy to take with my morning coffee and evening protein shake.” — Malcolm, Loox review, 5★
Does it taste fishy?
Unflavoured and, by the reviews, undetectable — coffee, tea, porridge, orange juice, a shake. It dissolves clear with no lumps and no stringy texture. One reviewer in more than 350 found it unpleasant; if that’s you, the taste guarantee applies.
“It mixes well into my coffee and doesn’t taste fishy.” — Zuzana, Loox review, 5★
“Mixes into hot drinks really well and no taste — not even visible in black coffee!” — Mrs K, Loox review, 4★
I already take a protein powder. Do I need this?
They’re different proteins with different jobs on the label. Collagen is about 90% protein but not a complete one — it has no tryptophan — so it isn’t a substitute for Accelerate or whey, and they aren’t a substitute for it. Runners who take both take Accelerate after the run and Run Easy morning and night.
Where does it come from?
White fish. Run Easy is Type I collagen peptides from fish, not from cow hide — which is where most collagen sold to runners comes from. There is no vegan collagen; anything sold as one is a “booster”, not collagen. Contains fish. Suitable for pescatarians. Made in the UK.
